Inside the Court are special roles assigned to each Branch, these roles are not always chosen from inside the branch but they do report to the branch leadership as shown below. i.e. a Ducal Guard might be a member of the Azure Circle but will now also report to the Onyx General.
Bailiff – Ensures order and decorum within the Court. Responsible for issuing and collecting fines levied for transgressions.
Chamberlain – Oversees all attendants, ensuring their training, discipline, and proper fulfillment of duties.
Ducal Guards – Elite warriors sworn to the protection of the Dread Duke and his direct bloodline.
Blade Master – The preeminent warrior among the court, chosen from non-lead courtiers who exemplify the highest martial prowess. Tasked with training and refining the skills of those beneath them. The Blade Master also represents the Court in duels and honor fights.
Court Physician – Attends to the health and well-being of the Court’s mortal nobility, ensuring their continued vitality.
Court Seer – The Court’s oracle, entrusted with divination, astrological readings, and the delivery of prophecies, warnings, and insights, particularly to the mortal nobility.
High Necromancer – The counterpart to the Court Physician, responsible for the welfare of the undead nobility and the maintenance of the Court’s standing undead servitors.
Court Archiver – Keeper of all records, histories, and precedents. Called upon whenever the Court requires insight into past rulings or historical accounts.
These positions are assigned in character (IC) by the Dread Duke from among candidates presented by the Blood Counts. However, the Duke may appoint extraordinary individuals from outside the council if he deems them worthy.
Out of character (OOC), these roles are impermanent and will shift as needed to ensure they remain filled by individuals who actively perform their duties.
