The Sanguine Legion

The Blood General is the ultimate authority within the Sanguine Legion, channeling ancient powers derived from blood & death magic to lead the Legion into their most perilous battles. As master strategist and commander, the Blood General oversees all operations, commands the respect and obedience of the entire Legion, and is the primary architect of the Legion’s long-term objectives. The Blood General embodies the Legion’s ideals, serving as a symbol of strength, honor, and ruthless efficiency.

The second-in-command, the Crimson Marshal acts as the General's enforcer and trusted advisor. A high-ranking commander who leads specific military campaigns or divisions within the Legion. While they have substantial authority over troops and tactics, they report directly to the General and execute the General’s broader strategic plans.

Role: Elite Warriors

Blood Knights are seasoned veterans and champions of the Sanguine Legion. Having proven their loyalty and battle expertise, they serve as Pillars of Legion and provide strategic counsel in the field to General. Often entrusted with leading smaller campaigns and managing operations, Blood Knights uphold Legion standards rigorously, acting as both mentors and enforcers. Known for their discipline and combat prowess, they handle critical missions with high stakes, guiding the Legion’s forces with unmatched precision.

Honorific: 'Dreadblade'

Progression: Members who demonstrate exceptional command abilities, loyalty, and tactical insight are eligible for promotion to the esteemed rank of Blood Knight. 

Role:  Veteran Warrior

Respected and feared, the Crimson Vanguard are formidable warriors, known for their strength and unshakable resilience. They are the vanguard in any battle, leading charges and inspiring dread among enemies. Equipped with honed skills and weapon mastery, these soldiers are entrusted with defending the Court and its most critical territories. Crimson Vanguard members are also mentors to Bloodsworn Blades, guiding them in combat and enforcing Legion discipline.

Progression: Bloodsworn Blades who distinguish themselves through valor, cunning, and mastery of the Legion’s combat arts may rise to the elite ranks of the Crimson Vanguard.

The Bloodsworn Blades are fully initiated members of the Legion who have completed their trials and earned the right to wield the Legion’s insignia. Known for their burgeoning skill and dedication, Bloodsworn Blades serve as the core fighting force, engaging in both guard duties and small-scale conflicts. Often, they are stationed throughout territories, tasked with gathering Intel, patrolling borders, and supporting higher-ranking members in skirmishes.

Progression: Those who endure squire phase, demonstrating both loyalty to Court and Legion as well as potential, are granted the title of Bloodsworn Blade, marking their true entry into the Legion.

These warriors channel their magic to heal and empower others in battle. The Crimson Heralds are versatile warriors whose dual role as combatants and healers makes them invaluable to the Legion’s offensive strategy. Trained in both the arts of war and the mystic skills of blood healing, they are able to mend the wounded even in the midst of battle, allowing the Legion’s forces to fight with greater resilience. Crimson Heralds are known for their fearless commitment to advancing Legion lines, as they frequently charge into battle to support the fallen, wielding both blade and restorative magic. 

Blood Sentinels are powerful casters who wield magic to protect and eliminate any threats to the Crimson Court. These magic warriors are trained in the arts of shadowcraft, blood magic, and illusion, specializing in spellwork that can devastate foes, obscure their allies, or unravel magical defenses. They are particularly skilled at striking fear into those who oppose the Legion and are rumored to be capable of weaving spells so potent that they can bind or disable intruders before they even reach their intended target.
